Going live effective immediately – and open right through to Christmas Eve, JB and I are on duty to answer your Christmas cooking questions. ✨Welcome to our Christmas Cooking Hotline!!✨

JB and I are on call!
I’m so excited to be doing this! I’ve had the idea of a Christmas cooking hotline bubbling away in my mind for years, but I always hesitated because I worried it would be too much to handle on my own.
But now that JB is part of the face of RecipeTin and it’s not just me, there’s two of us here to answer your questions. So for the first time ever, we’re opening up a hotline for Christmas cooking questions, bringing together home-cook practicality and actual proper chef experience (JB!), which means more ideas and better problem-solving for you!

So drop your question in the comments section below and we will answer as many as we can (we need to sleep, and we have some other work things to finish!). Ask anything you want, like:
Can I make this ahead, freeze it, or reheat it?
What can I substitute if I can’t find an ingredient?
How do I scale recipes up or down?
Help, something’s going wrong – how do I fix it?
Menu planning, timing, or oven logistics chaos 😅
Even though our last day of work is this Friday, JB has generously agreed to continue helping me with questions right through to Christmas Eve. Thank you JB, you’re the best.
And now…. the Christmas Cooking Hotline is now officially open. So drop your questions below and we’ll jump in to help wherever we can, because Christmas cooking is much more fun with backup! 🎄 – Nagi x
PS Few out-takes from today’s little Christmas shooting session. We know how to cook better than taking selfies. Promise. 😅

PPS Who nailed The Wink? 😉

Life of Dozer
My favourite Dozer Christmas outfit.

Though to be honest, Santa spends most of his time like this:

Which I’m sure is Santa after a few too many Christmas wines. This has absolutely nothing to do with his ride – or the stable hand who saddled up his ride. 😂
I just wanted to say I love your two cook books. I cook nearly all of my families meals from these books. They are tasty, well explained and perfect. Thank you
Hi Nagi and JB
Can you share your top make-ahead salad options for a Christmas spread?
Love this idea
Where can I source cassia or what do I substitute it with?
I’m doing a rotisserie porchetta for Christmas and need to transport it for dinner (half hour drive). How do I transport it so it doesn’t loose the crunchy crackling.
Any sparkling apple juice recommendations? (non alcoholic) 🍻
Hello and happy Christmas. A question about slicing ham on Christmas morning and reheating later ready for serving.
Do you by chance have a way to cook fresh calamari without making it rubbery please?! Thanks
Nagi! Can you recommend a couple of non-traditional dishes that you would serve over the Christmas period? We have our Friendmas on the 28th and I think everyone will be hammed-out!!!
Nagi, you have changed my (coming) life ❤️ I will be forever grateful
My question, when using a recipe from the UK which calls for double cream, what is the best Aussie substitute product? I suspect it is not the same as the double cream which I find in my local dairy case.
Thanks so much & I wish you, Dozer & the RTE team a joyeous Xmas 🎄
Double thick dollop cream! Go by fat percentage, double cream in the UK is ~48% fat so that’s what you want to aim for. 🙂 For example, Pura Double Thick Dollop cream is 46% which is close enough! – N x
Hi Nagi and JB! What’s your favorite glogg for christmas? I want to make my own glogg for this christmas and I’m wondering if you know any good glogg recipes? 🙂
I haven’t got one I’m loyal too! I tend to just google a recipe then tweak to my taste 🙂 Sorry Eero! I will try to get one up next year! – N c
We have had the Christmas Salmom every year for 3 years now! Our question is, what do you serve with it?
Oh! I’ve got this one 🙂 My favourite is Apple Salad because the sweet/crisp texture of the apple I just really love with that baked salmon! And I really like Lemon Potato Salad because it’s not mayo creamy, it’s lemony which again goes so well with seafood I think! Hope that helps Ella – N x
Thank you so much! We’ll go with both!
Hi Nagi and JB wishing all at Tin eats a very Merry Christmas. Not a Christmas question Nagi I heard you say on tv one day how you cook for Dozer. Pls tell me what is safe and healthy with all the nutrients a little Chi needs. Would love a few doggy recipes one day. Again Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
What are your top 5 meals to make for those of a more grinch-like persuasion? I’m stuck trying to make my Christmas meals festive-ish without going overboard.
Love your receipes
I have a question….my daughter in law has informed me that she is now a vegetarian?
Any suggestions. Thank you 😊
Hi Nagi & JB,
Thank you for everything you do & I love your books & website so much.
Apologies if this has already been asked but I was wondering what is on YOUR Christmas menu for this year from the books or website? Thank you!

No question but I am in the midst of making your mini cheesecakes. I’ll freeze them so I just have to decorate on the day. Always a hit!
Happy hols all xo
Hi Nagi & Dozer. About to attempt the perfect vanilla cake. Can I use low fat milk instead of full cream ?
Hi Nagi and JB, I’m cooking pork Christmas Eve for Christmas Day . How can I keep crackling crisp ?
To you and your staff , enjoy your Christmas . A special hug to Dozer
Do you have a recipe for chicken dumplings that can feed 20-30 people. But would like to cook with crockpot. Is that workable? I need to make it also budget friendly.
Hi Nagi, just a couple of turkey questions, first, any issue using a non-dairy substitute for butter? The second one is because I get confused every year, even when looking at the video, and end up with best guesses but which way is “upside down”?
